Everything that we encounter in life is a mirror. We may think that the only mirror we have is the one that reflects our physical features. Really though all the experiences we have show us a little bit about ourselves. The people we meet the reactions we have, teach us.
The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule:
"Love your neighbor as yourself."
Romans 13:9
Embracing those around us gives us the oppourtunity to see who we are. To know ourselves better. To grow as humans in a fallen and lost world. What do we have if we don't know who we are?
Who we are isn't defined by what we do but by how we think. If we choose to take a wrong and make it right, or if we choose to ignore what is right in front of us.
I have this issue.
Blinding myself to the truth that reveals itself. For my weakness is in my need to Love. My need to show my affection criples me.
Let me not be drawn to believe false realities. Let me see the truth.
